Every fridge install includes a dedicated circuit, the right cable gauge, and rated fusing. Clean wiring, no shortcuts.
Fridge Supply & Fit
We can supply the fridge or install your existing unit. We stock Bushman fridges and can source Engel and Dometic to order. All units come with full manufacturer warranty.
Dedicated Fridge Circuit
A fridge gets its own dedicated circuit run directly from the battery. No sharing with other accessories. Correct cable sizing for the run length and draw.
6mm Twin-Core Cable
6mm2 cable as standard for fridge runs. Sized to handle the start-up surge of a compressor fridge and deliver consistent voltage over long runs.
20A Inline Fuse & Breaker
An inline 20A fuse or circuit breaker fitted within 300mm of the battery. Protects the wiring from overcurrent and keeps your install compliant.
Fridge Slide or Drawer
Optional but strongly recommended. A quality fridge slide lets you pull the fridge fully out for easy access without lifting it. We install Decked and compatible slides to suit your tray or canopy.
Anderson Plug
A 50A Anderson plug gives you a clean external connection point. Use it to plug in the fridge lead from outside the vehicle, or to connect to a trailer or solar panel.
Cable Management
Every cable run neatly secured, labelled, and protected. No loose wiring rattling around the tray. Looks professional, stays put on corrugated roads.
Voltage Protection
Optional low-voltage cut-off or battery management relay to disconnect the fridge before your starter battery gets pulled too low. Keeps you starting every time.
Why We Use Bushman Fridges
Bushman is an Australian-made brand built specifically for the Australian outback. Their DC compressor fridges run on a Secop Danfoss BD35 compressor, the same unit trusted in medical and scientific refrigeration. It's efficient, reliable, and handles Queensland heat in a way that cheaper compressors simply don't.
The Bushman range includes the DC85-X (85L, ideal for 4WD canopies and the best-seller for solo and couples travel), the DC130-X (130L, popular for families and longer caravan trips), and the DC230-X (230L, suited to large caravans and long-term setups). All models are 12V/24V compatible, carry a 7-year manufacturer warranty, and are rated to Tropical T class (43°C ambient), essential for Queensland summers.
